Missouri Kids USA Wrestling to be held at Farmington Civic Center

On March 18th the Farmington Mat Rat Wrestling Club and Ste. Genevieve Youth Wrestling Club will be co-hosting the Missouri Kids USA Regional Wrestling Championships at the Farmington Civic Center. Over 500 wrestlers from Cape Girardeau in the south to Kirksville in the north and Columbia in the west will be traveling to Farmington for a chance to qualify for the Missouri USA Kids State Wrestling Championships.

This past weekend the wrestlers competed in their district wrestling tournaments trying to place in the top six so that they could qualify for the regional tournament. Thirteen Farmington Mat Rat Wrestlers competed at Ritenour High School with 12 making it through to their regional tournament.

Six of the 13 wrestlers came home with gold: Collin Huitt 8&U 75, Brenden Briese 10&U 70, Ryan Wadlow 10&U 110, Stanton Ketcherside 12&U 140, Josh Kelleher 14&U 105, and Greg Bonnell 14&U 140. Other wrestlers to place were: Jake Andrews 6th, Zachary Resinger 5th, Todd Brackett 3rd, Chris Huitt 2nd, Dakota Kee 7th, and Austin Miner 4th.

Wrestling begins at 9 am and should conclude by 3 pm.
