FARMINGTON - The Farmington Knights, after winning their own tennis tourney on Saturday (see related story this page), continued their winning ways by besting the Potosi Trojans 8-1 on Monday.
Potosi's only win came in No. 2 doubles with Nathan Payne and Shea Stark hitting lasers down the alleys past the net play of Farmington's Eric Fuemmeler and Colton Reynolds for an 8-3 win.
The other two doubles were 8-0 shut-outs by the Knights with Brad Green and Simon Hildebrandt winning at No. 1 over John Haguewood and Wil Norveil, and Justin Arnold and Jordan Villmer besting Gary Hollinsworth and Travis Edwards.
Only Edwards put up any struggle for Potosi in the singles matches before falling to Reynolds 8-6 in the No. 6 match. In the other matches: No. 1 - Arnold beat Haguewood 8-1, No. 2 - Green defeated Norveil 8-0, No. 3 - Hildebrandt shut out Payne 8-0, No. 4 - Villmer won 8-3 over Stark, and No. 5 - Fuemmeler dropped Hollinsworth 8-1.

BONNE TERRE - The North County Raiders and the Arcadia Valley Tigers had to wait until the final serve of their nine matches was made before a winner was definitely decided.
