POTOSI - Washington County Prosecuting Attorney John Rupp has received the final report of the investigation into the shooting death of John L. Turntine.

Late Monday afternoon, Rupp said he has not reviewed the report but he hopes to look at it soon and make a decision. While he was unsure of a timeline, Rupp said he hoped to make a decision by the end of this week.

Rupp said he did go with investigating officers to the scene of where the man died to see what witnesses “could see and from where.”

According to police reports, Turntine was shot and killed Sept. 3 by a Washington County deputy.

Deputies had been called to Turntine's home for an intoxicated male who was threatening people. Turntine was shot after a deputy ran after him from his home into the woods. The deputy said Turntine had a butcher knife and was approaching him when he fired the weapon.

Family members who were present at the home dispute many of the statements the deputy made about what happened.

The shooting has been investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

WELL TIGG, You really want to go there. Well how about the new drive way and side walk to their house. Let’s see the paid recite for the city's labor & the concrete they used. What about the new fence? Did they get a permit? We can go on and on but we don't want to do this do we. I have seen that B.T. is trying to clean up the city but are they finished yet???

Tigg, she is not REQUIRED to belong to the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Beautification Committee, or some organization she goes to in Farmington. She volunteered her services. Is that good enough for you? Believe me, I have the facts and they are not accusations and we are getting more information daily.

To "Just Want to Know" - My aunt is the city clerk. I was just wondering what organizations you feel she gets paid for that she is not required to belong to. I'll be happy to educate you some, if you'll provide some legitimate information, rather than accusations without facts.

The decision to use a fire truck came at the request of the fire department and was approved by the last council. If you talk about saving money how is it that the City Clerk can get comp time and hourly wage to attend organizations to which she choses to belong and not required by her job? Isn't that double dipping?

they said well he does the work by him self does not have an assistant. In the past the manager did. Well we have been saying all along that this was a waste of money. They also said that he was being paid far less than the other past managers. Again we said they were paying way to much for the work being done in Bonne Terre. As for the "smoke stack" thats like cutting a tree down with a weed wacker. And they wonder why others think Bonne Terre is full of backwords hillbillys.

Wow, they got the City Manager's raise in just before the election, imagine that! And the fire dept. using their NEW 350,00 fire truck to "blow down" the stack, now that is smart use of the cities assets!

I havent had my electric, water, gas, phone shut-off..did come close to that a few times. I made do with what I had. Did not waste money on anything. Thats someting the city council should have done. I have not been foolish enough to drink BT water for 30 years and I dont plan on drinking it any time soon.

When will our water be safe enough to drink? When will we be able to afford our monthly water/sewer/electric/gas/phone/groceries bills? I don't just down Bonne Terre- remember Farmington has had many issues ( they even had the news channels down @ meetings- VERY good idea). We are stuck people---STUCK! It does no good to complain about the price of oil, milk, eggs, water ect. We HAVE to pay for them or we will cease to exsist. We can't live w/o food and water. The cities ( utlities) have us by the-for the lack of a better word-scrotum! I know that the leaders of our town read these ( and comment often). They get hateful w/ people who can't seem to pay their bills on time. Do you think we enjoy being held @ the mercy of the shut off man? NO WE DONT. We personally have never recieved government benefits- we fill if you can't work-then you don't deserve it.I seen were someone bragged about getting foodstamps, welfare, commidities on another page of comments. I'm proud to say I've never gotten any help. I'm also proud to say I've had my electric shut off, my water shut off...ect. I worked my hiney off to pay these bills. Man- I think the Amish are right-wonder if I can run an extension cord from a neighboring farm.I can't do w/o my puter LOL. Anyhow-comment away-attack if you want-I'm a survivor-I've drank BT water for 40 yrs now!

We WON! All our hard work has paid off now we will have our voices heard. Now lets see if the city officials will do the people will. Now that a new election will be in 08 and if any of them wish to run. They better start listing to the voice of the voters. They did not in the past and now they see that WE do have the power to make changes in the way we are governed.
