Accident sends three to hospital

Three people went to the hospital after two vehicles collided on Washington Street, according to Farmington Police.
Police said Tabitha Freeland failed to yield when she made a right onto Washington Street near Maple Street. Doris Sloan’s Cadillac Escalade struck Freeland’s Pontiac Grand Am. Both ended up over the curb in front of the Carriage Manor Residential Care. The Escalade damaged a bench there.
According to police, Jessie Sloan, a passenger, was taken to the hospital by ambulance. The officer did not know how serious the injuries were.
The drivers were taken to a hospital by private conveyance for minor injuries.
The accident was reported at about 3 p.m. Thursday.
Several accidents in the Parkland Wednesday sent a number of people to hospitals with minor to moderate injuries.
About 6:40 p.m. Wednesday night, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Matthew S. Nubrand, 16, Desloge, drove his vehicle off the right side of Route Y near Hillsboro Road, struck a culvert and overturned.
The report indicates he was not wearing a safety device. He was taken to Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre by St. Francois County Ambulance.
About 5 p.m., Katelynn E. Hudson, 12, Fredericktown, was injured when the car in which she was riding was involved in an accident on Route H, about three tenths of a mile north of Hildebrecht Road.
The Highway Patrol reports a vehicle driven by Helen M. Pheland, 49, Farmington, was northbound on Route H when it was struck by a vehicle driven by Melissa A. Turnbeau, 28, Fredericktown. Turnbeau reported her vision was obscured by the sun. Her vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
Hudson, a passenger in Turnbeau’s car, was taken to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center by St. Francois County Ambulance.
Three teenagers were transported to Washington County Hospital after an accident on Highway 21 at Missouri 104 South about 5:10 p.m. Wednesday.
The Highway Patrol indicates Megan M. Allison, 17, Blackwell, was stopped in traffic waiting to make a left turn when her vehicle was struck in the rear by a car driven by Alesia E. Hepson, 16, Cadet.
Allison was transported by Washington County Ambulance, along with Ashley M. Elledge, 16, Mineral Point, who was a passenger in Allison’s car, and Brittany L. Turnbull, 16, Blackwell, a passenger in Hepson’s car.
