Marquand resident has rollover accident

The Cherokee Pass and Marquand Fire Departments and Madison Medical Center’s EMS responded to a call involving a rollover accident on Highway M near Buckhorn  about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2007.

According to on scene rescue personnel, Cecile Moore lost control of her vehicle and traveled off the left side of the roadway along Highway M and rolled over. Cherokee Pass rescue personnel lead by assistant chief Ken Pate extracted Moore from her vehicle through the windshield. She suffered only minor injuries according to personnel on the scene.

In another accident;

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported an accident occurring on August 8, 2007 at 1:45 p.m. along Highway 67, three miles south of Fredericktown. According to the report, Sheila R. Porter, 42, of Fredericktown  was driving a 1984 Chevrolet when she pulled to the northbound shoulder, failed to yield, attempting to make a U-turn and collided with a 1991 Chevrolet driven by Kathy D. Bellew, 48, of Fredericktown.

Porter suffered minor injuries and was transported to Madison Medical Center (MMC) by ambulance. An occupant in Porter’s car, Kevin E. Brakefield, 45, of Fredericktown also suffered minor injuries and was transported to MMC as well.

Bellew suffered minor injuries and was transported to MMC by ambulance. An occupant in Bellew’s car, Dylan M. Hrouda, 3, also suffered minor injuries and was transported to MMC according to the report.

Porter’s car was reported as a total loss and Bellew’s car had extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed by D and D Towing of Fredericktown.

Everyone had been wearing their safety devices.

On August 10, 2007 at 3:45 PM, the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), Madison County Sheriff’s Department, Cherokee Pass Fire Department and Madison Medical Center EMS responded to an accident on Highway D one mile south of Oak Grove. According to the MSHP report; a 1992 Cadillac driven by Randy L. Whited, 49, of Fredericktown crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by  Misti F. Wurst, 28, of Fredericktown.  Whited and a passenger in his vehicle; Mary L. Whited, 52, of Fredericktown suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to Madison Medical Center (MMC) by ambulance. Wurst and a passenger in her vehicle; Jessica A. Whited, 24, of Fredericktown suffered minor injuries. Both of them were also  transported to MMC by ambulance.

Both vehicles were listed as total losses and towed by D and D Towing of Fredericktown according to the report.
