LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Kansas guard Sherron Collins will be out six weeks after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a stress fracture in his left foot, the Lawrence Journal-World is reporting on its Website,
kusports.com.
Collins rolled his ankle Sunday night against Missouri-Kansas City. He went to the locker room briefly, then came out and finished the game.
“Everything went great,” coach Bill Self told the Journal-World. “They had to put a screw in there. We’re looking at it as six weeks. It realistically is a six-week process. The doctors said it’s a six-week deal to heal.”
Averaging 16 points per game, Collins is the leading scorer for the Jayhawks, who are still without guard Brandon Rush while he recovers from knee surgery.
