BONNE TERRE — Joseph J. Pitts, 85, of Bonne Terre passed away March 10, 2008 at National Health Care. He was born December 15, 1922 in St. James, Missouri.
He was a member of the Happy Grove Church of God; US Army World War II Veteran.
Preceded in death by Parents, Jonia and Rosa (White) Pitts; Grandson, Mark Conger; Sisters, Fern Norris and Mary Spurgeon; Brothers, Clifford Pitts, Raymond Pitts, Arthur Pitts and Ervin Pitts.
Survived by Wife, Mary Frances (Freeman) Pitts; Children, Charles Pitts and wife Myrtle of Clarksville, TN, Betty Steinbecker and husband Robert of Arnold, MO, Marvin and wife Betty Pitts of Springfield, MO, Kathleen Gilliam and husband Van of Bonne Terre, Stephen and wife Tonya Pitts of Leadwood; Stepchildren, Georgia Mackley and husband Bill of Bonne Terre, Gladys Ramsey and John Vallo, both of Farmington; 12 Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; One Sister Hazel Rhodes of St. James.
Visitation Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 5 p.m. at C Z Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Services Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at C Z Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre with Brother Leroy Brown. Interment at Leadwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Happy Grove Church of God.
