Fredericktown Sports -- Wildcats
Congratulations to the Fredericktown Wildcats (3rd and 4th grade girls) for a perfect season of 10 wins and no losses during AAU league play. Other teams included North County, West County, Farmington, Desloge, Park Hills, Bonne Terre and Potosi. From the beginning these young girls showed their determination and skills necessary to achieve their goals. Basketball at this age is a learning sport so they will be ready for high school games. The Wildcats have been playing together since Kindergarten and have developed into an outstanding team. The Wildcats are taught sportsmanship and the rules so they will be prepared to play in their school functions as well as teaching these youngsters valuable lessons in life-dealing situations. These young girls have learned to think fast on their feet, take the time to think about the play and then following through. Coaches, Chad Denman and Dave Johnston, are there teaching the girls the rules and showing them by example. The parents give these young girls encouragement, support and help if the coaches need it. Grandparents and friends show their support by attending the games and cheering them on. We have a group of young girls to be proud of and the makings of superb basketball team.
