BANTAM LEAGUE —

Redbirds 3, Mustangs 2

FARMINGTON
— In a battle of two Farmington teams the Redbirds scored the most last to defeat the Mustangs by a score of 3-2. In a scoreless contest through the first three innings , the Mustangs scored both of the runs in the fourth, but the Redbirds scored all of their runs in the fifth inning to win the game.

The Mustangs will play next at Bonne Terre on Thursday.

Yellowjackets 8, Hustle 3

BONNE TERRE
— The Potosi Yellowjackets were treated to a an 11 strike-out performance by their pitcher Jordan Huerta for an 8-3 win over the Hustle. Ethan Nixon drove in half of Potosi’s runs and was 2-3 at the plate.

Trevor Rolens was 2-2, and Caleb Dicus hit one double for the Yellowjackets. Huerta and Noah Jacobsen had one hit each. Ryan Coleman did not have a hit, but he was hit by a pitch in every one of his three plate appearances. Each time, Coleman’s free pass led to a Yellowjacket score.

The Yellowjackets will play at the Desloge Raiders today.

Bombers 16, Oilers 1

BONNE TERRE
— Tommy Struckman hit a home run and a single to lead the Bonne Terre Bombers to a 16-1 win over the Valley Oilers. Nathan Davenport, Lucas Spray, Cole Ziegler, and Keethan Young all had two hits each, and Dawson Harper had one.

CAL RIPKEN LEAGUE

Cougars 11, Flames 1

ARCADIA
— Levi Earnest struck out 12 batters and allowed only one hit to lead the Arcadia Valley Cougars to an 11-1 over the Fredericktown Flames.

Austin Wilfong had the big hit with a triple. Wilfong also hit a single as did Garrett Tedford, Earnest, Nick Inman and Hayden Helvey. Garrett House hit two singles for the Cougars.

Titans 13, Wolves 3

PARK HILLS
— Ethan Branch did not allow any hits by the Park Hills Wolves as he pitched the Leadwood Titans to a 13-3 win.

Branch was also 2-3 at the plate, Jared Jones was 2-2, and Noah Vinson, Matthew Momot and Grant Masters all had one hit apiece.

 

Longhorns 4, Jaguars 1

FARMINGTON
— The Farmington Longhorns opened their season Monday night by holding off the cross-town rival Jaguars for a tight 4-1 victory.

Jonah Barnes struck out six and allowed six hits for the complete-game victory. He also had a pair of singles at the plate.

Justin Boehm paced the Longhorns’ offense by going 3-for-3 with two doubles, and Grant Hopkins produced a key two-run single.

Calvin Lynch finished with two hits for the Jaguars, including a RBI double in the fourth inning. The contest ended with the potential tying runs on base.
