| Article: | Marshal recognized as Chief of Police at Council Meeting The Fredericktown City Council held their regular meeting on Monday May 27, 2008. The meeting was called to order and went into closed session until 6:55 PM regarding a single personnel issue. A second closed session was held at the end of the evening as well for two contract matters and four personnel matters. When the Council returned to open session, Mayor Danny Kemp reported his attendance at the Memorial Day ceremony at the Madison County Courthouse steps. Kemp said he saw several people in attendance, but would like to see more at this ceremony. Kemp also said he has been driving around the neighborhood and wants residents who have abandoned and overgrown grass to clean up their yards. He also said the City should look at greater enforcement the animal control ordinance as too many residents have more pets than what the City ordinance allows. Some of the dogs are running loose also he said. Kemp went on to tell the aldermen and audience of the grand opening ceremony planned for the New Morning Apartments starting at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 204 N. Chamber Dr. in Fredericktown (Across from Carolina Fabrics). He concluded his report mentioning an upcoming economic development seminar in Cape. |
