Accidents injure four

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Brandon M. Brown, 27, was driving on Hwy. EE, just east of Frye Road, when he traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree. His 1990 Ford Bronco then caught fire. He was taken to St. Johns Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur by Air Evac. The report indicates he was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained moderate injuries.
The accident happened about five minutes after midnight.
Three drivers were hurt in a three-car accident just after 10 o’clock Thursday night on U.S. Hwy. 67 in Jefferson County.
The Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred in the southbound lanes, north of Meyer Road.
The report says Joseph H. Nash, 33, Festus, was driving the wrong way in the passing lane of southbound U.S. 67. He crashed head on into a vehicle driven by Mary J. Rodriguez, 45, De Soto, and continued on, striking a vehicle driven by Jeremy J. Ruessler, 25, Valles Mines, who was also southbound.
Nash and Rodriguez sustained serious injuries and were taken by Joachim Plattin Ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital. Ruessler was taken to the same hospital by private vehicle. Nash was reportedly not wearing a seat belt. The other two drivers were.

The State is working toward a safer highway by installing ramps, eliminating at grade crossings etc, maybe someday they will impliment one way spike strips to keep cars from traveling the wrong way on a ramp but thats not likely. The reason there are more wrong way, and accidents in general on US 67 is there are more motorists using the roads than in years past. The community is growing.

There are too many {wrong way} drivers on Hwy 67 why not use wrong way tire flattening strips on the exit ramps to stop them before they get on the highway and on coming traffic?
