Raiders take three-game sweep

FRANKCLAY —The North County Raiders picked up three wins on Saturday to finish out their season in the 13-year-old MABA League with a 9-3 record.
Their first game was a finishing of a suspended game on June 21 with the Leadwood Marlins in the fourth inning. The Raiders won the game 6-4 with Austin Johnson picking up the win. Derek Mitchell hit a double and a single for the Raiders, and Travis Ryals and Jonathan Stabenow had one single each.
Jake Kirkpatrick, and Clayton Loughary hit doubles for the Marlins and Micah Casteel hit one single.
In the second game the Raiders triumphed over the Farmington Bearcats 15-5. Blake Archer was the winning pitcher and also went 5-5 at the plate with five singles.
Jayden Odle hit two doubles, and Ryals, Eric Thompson, Johnson, Stabenow, and Mitchell all had one single each. Levi Meyer, Jacob Brantley, Justin Bucheit and Christian Ayyagari had one single apiece for the Bearcats.
In the final game of the night for the Raiders they locked up with the Marlins again, and until the sixth inning it was anybody’s ball game. The score was tied 2-2 when Stabenow broke the game open with a bases clearing triple and the Raider went on for a 7-3 win.
Both Ross Politte and Loughary hit doubles for the Marlins, and Politte, Kirkpatrick, Clay Allgier, Cody Davis, and Wyatt Pierce hit singles.
Mitchell picked up the win in a pitching battling with Politte for six innings. Austin Johnson recorded the save.
Johnson hit a double and a single for the Raiders, Ryals, Thompson, Odle and Jace Burk all had two singles each, and Blake Archer and Stabenow had one single each.
