Reva Iona Rose
Reva Iona Rose, 100, of Fredericktown died June 28, 2008 at ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown.

She was born June 8, 1908 at Fredericktown, the daughter of Thomas O’Bannon and Lucy (Hovis) Smallen.

On June 6, 1933 at Warrensburg, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Paul Rose who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rose was also preceded in death by one brother, Willis Smallen; one daughter, Maurene Beatty and great-grandson Kenneth Jerald.

She is survived by her son, Willard Rose of Baldwin, Missouri; grandson Douglas Rose of Farmington; granddaughter Kelly Karas of Grover Missouri; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.

She enjoyed her family,  crossword puzzles, the Cardinals and crochet.

Mrs. Rose taught in the Fredericktown Elementary School System for almost 30 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, Retired Teachers of Madison County, Madison County Historical Society and a volunteer at the food bank for many years.

Services were held July 2, 2008 at the First Baptist Church with Brother Clyde Bess Sr., Evangelist officiating. Burials was at Old Masonic Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Darreux Jeff Beatty, Doug Rose, Don Karas, Butch and Tim Boyce.
