Two Farmington residents were injured Sunday when their vehicle went off the road in Jefferson County while trying to avoid a large bundle of foam.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Todd A. Umfleet, 34, was northbound on U.S. 67 at 5:44 p.m. when his 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt came up on a large bundle of foam in the roadway at Long Road.
Umfleet swerved to avoid the bundle and his vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a rock wall and overturned. Umfleet received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Also injured in the accident was Melissa A Black, 28, who received serious injuries and also was taken to Jefferson Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
According to the reports, Black was wearing a seatbelt and Umfleet was not. Damage to the vehicle was listed as total.
