E-Waste Recycling Day at Wal-Mart
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
The Fredericktown Walmart along with Midwest Recycling Center (MRC) of Crystal City will be holding an E-waste Recycling Day for old computers, laptops, notebooks, televisions, cell phones, printers, fax machines, answering machines, and adding machines. In addition, volunteers will accept appliances such as washers and dryers, dishwashers, furnaces, stoves, water heaters and air conditioners.

People can drop off their old equipment at the Walmart parking lot and volunteers will take the items.

There is not cost to recycle most of the items, However, there will be a $10.00 fee for all-in-one computers, televisions, and monitors and a $5.00 fee for refrigerators. That is because those items have hazardous materials  in them such at cathode ray tubes (CRT’s) that contain four-eight pounds of lead requiring additional labor.

The E-Waste Recycling Day will be from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the Fredericktown Walmart parking lot.
