PARK HILLS – If the heat is driving you indoors, use some of the time to weed out unwanted items that you can sell in the annual city-wide yard sale.
The yard sale, sponsored by the Park Hills - Leadington Chamber of Commerce, takes place Aug. 9 throughout the city. Permits are required for Park Hills residents. Leadington residents do not need permits, but must buy a special permit to be included in the map and in the Chamber’s advertising opportunities.
All permits must be purchased by Aug. 4 from the Chamber office, 5 Municipal Drive in Park Hills. Maps featuring the area sales locations will be available for $1 from the Chamber office Aug. 6-8.
Cost of a sellers permit, with the yard sale address put on a list, is $5. It costs $6 to include the permit, the list and including on the street map.
The most expensive fee, $7, includes the permit, list and street map. In addition, the seller(s) may list five major items for sale at their site.
The permit does not count toward the residential annual limit on yard sales in Park Hills.
For more information, call the chamber at 573-431-1051.
Last year, 79 yard sales were featured in the city-wide sale. Proceeds go toward Chamber projects such as the annual Christmas Party for area foster children.
