He was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Park Hills. He loved his family and loved to travel. He played the fiddle, guitar and harp and continued playing musical instruments for the nursing home residents after he became a resident. He served in the CC Corps for three years.
He was preceded in death by: First wife, Ruby Lavon Dixon; brothers, Joe Bob Cummins, Ralph Cummins and Virgil Cummins; sister, Pearl Johnson; and granddaughter, Lisa Marie Cummins.
He is survived by: Wife, Myrtle (Willis) Cummins of Potosi; children, David Lee Cummins and wife Thelma J. of Arnold, and Donald Ray Cummins and wife Sharon of St. Louis; grandchildren, Sandra Dawn Hopkins and husband Craig of Arnold, Jeannine Elaine Champ and husband Tony of St. Louis, and Donna Renee Bauer and husband Michael of Plano, Texas; great-grandchildren, Chad and Sydnie Cummins, Caleb and Joshua Champ, and Andrew and Abigail Bauer; step-children, Jean Price of Potosi and Jerry Brashier of Park Hills; step-grandchildren, Jerry Wayne Brashier and Courtney Brashier; and sisters, Edith Westerman of Kansas City, Kan., and Nadine Raemahield of Dewey, Okla.
Visitation will be 6 p.m., Monday, August 18, 2008, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge; Services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with pastor Wayne Phillips officiating. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be directed to Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Park Hills.
