On Friday, Circuit Court Judge Kenneth W. Pratte placed Timothy Alan Dean, 37, on five years of supervised probation and ordered him to serve 60 days in the Iron County jail for assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest by fleeing. This sentence will run concurrent with the probation he received in Iron County for stealing and resisting arrest by fleeing.
According to court records, Dean entered St. Francois County on Highway 221 while fleeing from Ironton police Jan. 14, 2007. The Missouri State Highway Patrol used a spike strip to flatten his front tires near St. Francois Hills but Dean continued through Farmington, running several stop signs and causing several vehicles to run off the road.
Dean stopped his vehicle on Route D and took off running. He fell down an embankment and police were able to catch him. He resisted arrest and hit a deputy in the arm while officers placed him in handcuffs.
In other cases, Susan K. Crooks Weber, 47, of Park Hills, was sentenced to four years in prison for two counts of fraudulent attempt to obtain a controlled substance. The judge will consider releasing her on supervised probation if she successfully completes a long-term drug treatment program.
According to court records, in March, Weber made copies of a prescription that a doctor wrote for Percocet and had the prescription filled at several local pharmacies.
When police searched her house they found 109 prescription bottles including one that was stolen from a woman’s residence. When being questioned, Weber told the officer she was addicted to pain medication and was taking dozens of pills a day.
The second charge stemmed from another incident where she forged a prescription for Vicodin.
Ronald D. Lashley Jr., 26, of Farmington, was placed on five years of supervised probation after entering Alford pleas to felonious restraint and second-degree burglary. By entering an Alford plea, he did not admit to any element of the charges, but recognized there was sufficient evidence for trial, which was scheduled next month.
According to court records, Lashley broke into a house in Farmington to assault his girlfriend on Nov. 3. He hit her with a metal candlestick and a frying pan and then told her not to tell anyone or he would kill her. She attempted to leave but Lashley got a knife and told her she wasn’t going to leave.
Victoria Steffl, 38, of Bonne Terre, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The judge will consider probation after she completes a 120-day drug treatment program.
David Snider, 31, of Park Hills, was sentenced to five years in prison for possession of meth and possession of a chemical with intent to make meth. The judge will consider probation after he completes a 120-day drug treatment program.
Arley Stacy, 49, of Farmington, was sentenced to five years in prison for driving while intoxicated.
Adam Scott Hafley, 19, of Farmington, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The judge will consider probation after he completes a 120-day drug treatment program.
Anthony P. Boyer, 38, was sentenced to one year in the county jail for unlawful use of a weapon and stealing. He was credited for the time he has already served.
Also placed on five years of supervised probation were Jeremy Wriley, 25, of Doe Run, for second-degree domestic assault; Jana M. Frohmann Moore, 37, of Dittmer, for failure to pay child support; April Lober, 45, of Farmington, for possession of chemical with intent to make meth; Stephen A. Pettus, 38, of Bonne Terre, for possession of meth; Rodney C. Boyer, 23, of Ironton, for possession of a chemical with intent to make meth; Nathan Alley, 33, of Cadet, for driving while intoxicated; Joseph Stewart, 24, of Park Hills, for attempted manufacture of meth; Ashley L. Huff, 24, of Desloge, for forgery; Robert Kennedy, 21, of Farmington, for stealing; and Sheila Walker, 52, of Farmington, for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
