DESLOGE — A Desloge man who was wanted by police on outstanding warrants is in more hotwater after marijuana was found in his vehicle. According to Desloge Police Chief James Bullock, Ryan Morgan, 21, Bonne Terre, was observed driving at 12:37 a.m. on Aug. 9 through Desloge by Officer Dustin Cash.
“Officer Cash knew Mr. Morgan had outstanding warrants so he pulled the vehicle over,” Bullock said. “He placed him under arrest on the outstanding warrants. During a search of the vehicle, Officer Cash found a small amount of marijuana.”
Bullock said now Morgan will mostly face an additional charge of possession of marijuana.
In an unrelated arrest at 8:41 a.m. on Aug. 9, a Desloge man was arrested for tampering with a cable that provides the television signal at the Eagles Landing Apartment Complex. Bullock said Officer Dan Russell responded to the apartment where the man lived who allegedly tampered with the cable.
“While the officer was speaking with the man he noticed that the suspect was getting extremely excited and started to shake,” Bullock said. “His breathing began to get more rapid.”
Bullock said witnesses then identified the man as the person who had tampered with the cable.
“He had split the cable to get a signal without paying for it,” Bullock said. “The officer requested consent to search the man’s apartment which was granted. While searching he found a glass marijuana pipe with some residue in it. The K-9 unit was called, but no other drugs were found.”
Bullock said the 23-year-old Desloge man was arrested for tampering in the second degree and could face an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
