Police say Richwoods man was shot by brother
Daniel Tyarks in custody on $100,000 bond
POTOSI — A Richwoods man was found dead early Saturday morning after he was shot by his brother, according to police. The shooting occurred at 2:38 a.m. on Saturday in the 10900 block of Forest Lane in Richwoods.
When Washington County deputies arrived on the scene the victim, Donald Tyarks, was found with a single fatal wound to the chest.
According to a press release from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the investigation revealed that Tyarks and his brother Daniel Tyarks, 24, Richwoods, were involved in a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. Daniel Tyarks then entered the residence, and retrieved an SKS rifle and fired one round, striking the victim.
Daniel Tyarks was taken into custody and was formally charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action. Tyarks remains at the Washington County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
