PERRYVILLE — The Bismarck Lady Indians finished their pool at 2-0-2 (equal to 6-2 in games won), and then marched on to finally defeat the Ste. Genevieve Hunters in a hard-fought, championship match 25-22, 26-24.
Bismarck had to work hard just to win their pool. They defeated Cape Central, 25-23, 25-20, and Charleston 25-15, 250-12. The Lady Indians earned a split with St. Vincent, 16-25, 25-18, and also with Ste. Genevieve 12-25, 25-20.
Even though they won their pool, the two splits was a wake-up call for the Lady Indians. Before playing Ste. Genevieve in the championship game, the Lady Indians were able to squeak past the host team 25-20, 26-24.
The Hunters split with Bismarck in pool play (see above) to finish second in their pool. They had wins over Charleston 25-11, 25-9, and St. Vincent 25-21, 25-20, but they split two games with Cape Central by identical scores of 26-24.
Bismarck, 13-2-3, will host Valley on Tuesday, and Ste. Genevieve, 8-4-4, will travel to St. Pius this evening for their next games.
