BONNE TERRE — Due to a missing player, the Fredericktown Lady Cats had to revamp their line-up for their conference tennis meet with the North County Lady Raiders on Thursday, and it spelled a 5-4 win for the Lady Raiders. Their first win as a team in the 2008 season.

What was probably the deciding match was the No. 2 doubles  with North County’s Alyssa Yates and Alicia Price pulling out a 9-8 win by winning a 7-5 tiebreak over Emily Godsey and Shelby Seabaugh. North County also won the No. 3 doubles with Brittany Ford and Alex Perry defeating Fredericktown’s Kacelyn Alexander and Carolyn Neubrand 8-1.

Samantha Pinkley joined Alison Clover to play No. 1 doubles for Fredericktown against Chelsea Senter and Shelby Mund, and the Lady Cats prevailed by a score of 8-2.

The two teams split the singles matches with Fredericktown winning No. 1, 3 and 4 singles. Pinkley defeated Senter 8-1, Godsey won out over Yates 8-5, and Seabaugh beat Price 8-1.

North County’s wins came by Mund beating Clover 8-1, Ford bested Alexander 8-2, and Perry shut out Neubrand 8-0.

North County will seek their second win on Thursday at Potosi. Fredericktown, 3-4 and 2-4 in conference, will play at Arcadia Valley on Tuesday.
