FARMINGTON — Natalie Hoehn hit a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Farmington Knightettes a 4-3 win over the Fredericktown Lady Cats on Tuesday, one day after losing to them by 10 runs.

Hoehn came up with score tied and the bases loaded, and hit one down the line to score Allie Trask from their base. Trask had reached base on her fourth single (4-4), and advanced to third on an error at first base that allowed Katie Currington to reach base safely.

Pitcher Erin Littrell was called on to bunt for a squeeze play, but instead she got a single and Trask remained at third as Hoehn stepped to the plate.

Littrell, back from an injury, pitched the complete game for the Knightettes, striking out seven and giving up only four hits, and she was 3-4 at the plate. Tayler Benne, Sonya Hahn and Hoehn all had one hit each for Farmington.

Farmington led 3-0 going into the top of the sixth inning, but Miriah Korokis soon changed that as she hit a three-run home run over the fence to tie the game.

Ste. Genevieve 4, Central 2

STE. GENEVIEVE
— Melanee Cunningham had a no-hitter going into the sixth inning for the Central Lady Rebels, despite being behind two runs to the Ste. Genevieve Hunters. The Hunters had two hits in the bottom of the sixth to pull out a 4-2 win.

“We had several opportunities but couldn’t convert with runners in scoring position,” said Central coach Matt Bradley of his team’s loss.

The Lady Rebels also made five errors that helped the Hunters score the most runs. Taylor Friend led the Lady Rebels in offense as she was 2-3 at the plate and drove in both of Central’s runs.

Central (5-9) will host conference champion North County on Thursday and Ste. Genevieve (5-12) will host De Soto this afternoon.

SOCCER

FREDERICKTOWN
— The Farmington Knights offense had 22 shots on goal and five of them went in for a 5-1 win over the Fredericktown Blackcats on Tuesday.

Farmington’s goalkeeper made 10 saves for the Knights, with the Blackcats goal coming on a penalty kick late in the game by Logan Ward.

Alex Rhodes scored Farmington’s first goal with an assist by Brett Mell. Mell would also be credited with an assist along with Zach Thomas on the next goal with Pete Grindel scoring what would be the winning goal.

Grindel was the assist maker on the Knights’ last goal of the half, feeding the ball to Thomas to make the score 3-0.

At the 67:00 mark Grindel would score his second goal, with Thomas making the feed this time. Four minutes later, Connor Eaton scored Farmington’s last goal unassisted.

Farmington (5-2) will travel to Jackson to take on the Indians this afternoon. Fredericktown will host Kennett on Thursday.
