Lady Cats and Knightettes tack on another win

POTOSI — The Fredericktown Lady Cats bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to turn the tables on the Potosi Lady Trojans with a 5-4 win on Wednesday. The Lady Trojans won the first meeting between the two teams by a score of 7-2.
The Lady Cats, trailing 2-1 after doubles, swept the first four singles matches to take the win. Asha Ayaggari and Samantha Pinkley won 8-5 in No. 1 doubles for the Lady Cats over Melissa McGuire and Kelsey Fitzwater.
Ayaggari bested McGuire in No. 1 singles 8-2, Pinkley doubled up Fitzwater 8-4, Alison Clover won 8-1 over Allison Bonney, and Emily Godsey was an 8-4 winner over Olivia Kwan.
Potosi’s No. 2 duo of Bonney and Kayla Doss shut out Godsey and Seabaugh 8-0, and Kwan and Chala Doss edged out Clover and Alexander 9-7. Kayla Doss won the No. 5 singles with an 8-4 score over Seabaugh, and Chala Doss defeated Alexander 8-0.
Potosi (3-4) will play again this afternoon at North County. Fredericktown (3-6) will play next at home against Sikeston on Tuesday.
Farmington 9, Arcadia Valley 0
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Knightettes won a 9-0 shut-out from the Arcadia Valley Lady Tigers on Wednesday.
Courtney Jensen and Alicia Murray won 8--0 in No. 1 doubles over Jayne Rey and Anna Reynolds, Megan Politte and Jenny May won 8-1 over Alyssa Waddell and Kassie Leahy, and Katie Brady and Kayla Edgar defeated Janie Buck and Rachel Reynolds 8-2.
In singles, Jensen beat Rey 8-2, Murray won 8-1 over Waddell, Heather Lewis defeated Leahy 8-2, and Kaitlyn Crocker shut out Anna Reynolds 8-0. Mackenzie Coleman downed Buck 8-1, and Maria Finch shut out Rachel Reynolds 8-0.
Farmington (10-1 and 7-0 MAAA) will travel to Charleston today for a non-conference meet. Arcadia Valley (4-4) is off until Thursday’s conference tournament at Farmington
