Trailers burn in Friday fires
Blazes in Farmington, Park Hills
Firefighters were able to put out a fire before it caused too much damage to a trailer.
Farmington Capt. Alan Thomure said a self-cleaning oven caught on fire inside a trailer on Lee Drive. The fire was reported at 9:49 p.m. Friday.
The first firefighters were on the scene within five minutes of the call and were able to put it out. Thomure said there was very little damage outside of the stove and oven.
An occupant was treated for minor smoke inhalation.
Thomure said it was one of those situations where it was good thing they have a full-time fire department who could get there quick.
Farmington had three fire trucks on the scene and was assisted by the Wolf Creek Fire Department.
Park Hills' Fire Department had two fires to deal with Friday. An abandoned trailer was destroyed by fire early Friday morning.
Captain Jason Stam said when they arrived on the scene, almosst the entire trailer was engulfed in flames. The trailer owned by Jeff Masson, was a total loss.
Park Hills firefighters were assisted by the Desloge, Doe Run, Farmington and Bismarck fire departments. Firefighters from Leadwood, Leadington, and Potosi were on stand-by.
The state fire marshal's office has ruled the cause of the fire as undetermined.
At about 6 p.m. Friday, Park Hills firefighters responded to a grease fire at a house on Mill Street. The damage was minor.
