Bismarck clinches league title, Kingston pulls home upset

BISMARCK — The Bismarck volleyball team clinched sole possession of the MAAA Small-School division title on Tuesday night with a 25-8, 25-17 victory over West County.
Balee Lorenz collected 18 assists and 16 service points, while Brooke Taylor posted 12 kills with six blocks for the Lady Indians (21-2-3), who notched their 12th consecutive win.
Holly Blunt made eight digs and Tori Henson added five. Bismarck will hope to complete a 10-0 conference season at Arcadia Valley on Thursday.
Kingston 2, Arcadia Valley 1
CADET — The Kingston volleyball team also enjoyed Senior Night on Tuesday with an inspired 12-25, 25-23, 25-21 comeback win over Arcadia Valley, earning just its second conference win of the season.
Miranda Politte had team highs with 13 points and seven assists, while Becky Brown added 12 points, five kills and two blocks for the Lady Cougars (5-13). Senior Brandy Page made eight serve receptions.
Jacie Missey recorded 10 points with two blocks, and matched Emille Dicus with four kills each for Kingston.
Farmington 2, North County 0
FARMINGTON — The Farmington volleyball team improved to 4-1 at home this season with a 25-14, 25-16 victory over North County on Tuesday night.
Molly Barnes compiled a team-high six kills and Holli Hoehn contributed five, while Whitney Heuring and Cassie Garcilaso added four each for Farmington (17-8-1). Garcilaso also made five digs.
Courtney Heuring finished with three aces and two blocks, and Ashley Jenson totaled 22 assists. The Knightettes will host Fredericktown to close out conference play on Thursday.
Potosi 2, Central 1
POTOSI — An impressive balanced attack at home helped Potosi secure its first MAAA Large-School division win by outlasting Central 16-25, 25-21, 25-19 on Tuesday evening.
Lauren Aubuchon recorded 11 kills with six digs, and Ashley Thompson produced five stuff-blocks with nine kills for the Lady Trojans (11-12). Melinda Bust chipped in seven kills and four digs.
Senior Casey Nivens paced Potosi along the back row with 10 digs, and served 16 points including three aces. Jordan Harbison totaled 31 assists and Megan Rolens made three blocks with each player adding six kills.
Jaycee Haus led Central (11-11-2) at the net with 10 kills and six blocks, while Jennie Babb knocked down eight kills. Alicia Sebastian tallied 18 digs and Megan Simpson finished with 14 assists.
Valle 2, Valley 0
CALEDONIA — The Valle Catholic volleyball team improved to 7-2 in conference play on Tuesday with a 25-11, 25-16 home triumph over Valley.
Kelly Hermann led all servers with seven points, and matched Alli Dalton, Abbie Bergtholdt and Kelsey Abt with three kills each for the Lady Warriors (12-9-1). Abt made eight digs and received six serves, while Maria Herzog tallied eight assists.
Valley (6-14) picked up four kills and two blocks from hitter Jessica Crocker, plus seven points and six digs from setter Kaitlin Holbert. Loren Rodgers added four digs.
