Three accidents injure five
A Ste. Genevieve man was seriously injured Thursday when his 2001 Chevrolet Silverado went off the road in Perry County.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Wayne J. Hermann, 78, was west bound on Perry County Road 236 at 1:35 p.m. when he drove across U.S. 51 and into an embankment, coming to a stop in a soybean field.
Hermann, who had been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital. Damage to the Silverado was listed as extensive.
A Moscow Mills woman received minor injuries Thursday when she drove her 1988 Pontiac 6000 off the road and it struck several objects in Washington County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Carol D. Campbell, 42, was northbound on Highway 21 at 9:37 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a right curve about .2 miles south of Route C. Her vehicle crossed the center line, traveled off the left side of the road and collided with a large rock, a fence, a pole, another large rock and a utility pole.
Campbell, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. Damage to the vehicle was listed as extensive.
Two Mineral Point residents received minor injuries Thursday when their 2002 Ford Explorer struck a rock and a tree in Washington County.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Polly J. Nash, 44, was southbound on Bohr Road at 9:50 a.m. when she steered hard to the right trying to avoid a deer. The Explorer went off the right side of the road .2 miles north of Highway 8, and collided with the rock and tree.
Nash and passenger Shaun J. Hedrick, 20, were taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital. Both had been wearing seat belts. Damage to the vehicle was listed as extensive.
