Head-on collision injures three
Two Park Hills residents and a Bonne Terre man received minor injuries Friday in a head-on collision in Washington County.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Brent A. Kujath, 17, of Park Hills, was northbound on Old Bonne Terre Road at 11:10 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left. His 1996 Dodge Ram traveled into the path of a southbound 2003 Ford F250 driven by Mark A. Smith, 27, of Bonne Terre, striking it head-on, 1 mile north of Missouri 47.
Kujath and Smith were taken by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Health Center, as was Smith’s passenger, Joani Smith, 22, of Park Hills, according to the reports. All three were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
Damage to the Dodge was listed as total. Damage to the Ford was listed as moderate.
Also on Friday, a Bismarck woman received moderate injuries when her 2005 Jeep Renegade went off the road and overturned in St. Francois County.
According to the Highway Patrol, Diana E. Helms, 53, was northbound on Wallen Road at 8:25 a.m. when her vehicle went off the right side of the road, struck a tree and overturned, 1.5 miles north of Missouri 32.
Helms, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was flown by air ambulance to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Damage to the Jeep was listed as total.
Two Park Hills children received minor injuries and a Valles Mines man received moderate injuries Wednesday when their 1990 Dodge Ram van ran a stop sign and went off the road in St. Francois County.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, Leaman C. Rawson, 76, was eastbound on Route O at 5:45 p.m. when he failed to stop at the posted intersection with Missouri Route D. The van skidded through the intersection, traveled off the east side of Route D, then struck a dirt embankment and a barbed wire fence.
All three were wearing seat belts. Rawson was taken by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Health Center, as were the children, Drevon M. Rawson, 7, and Jodice N. Rawson, 6. Damage to the van was listed as minor.
Also on Wednesday, a Potosi woman received moderate injuries when her 1992 Dodge Dakota went off the road and hit a tree.
According to Highway Patrol reports, Theresa M. Isgriggs, 38, was northbound on Missouri 47 at 6:18 p.m., when her vehicle went off the right side of the road, .2 mile north of Rue Terre Bonne Road.
Isgriggs, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was flown by air ambulance to St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. Damage to the Dakota was listed as total.
