The annual Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade, the first of the area’s Christmas parades, will be Monday night.

The theme is “Christmas Carols Come Alive.” The parade starts at 7 p.m. at De Soto and Division streets near the fire station. The parade then goes to Main Street and ends in front of the post office.

As always, Santa Claus will be on the last float.

Before the parade, there will be a chili and soup dinner at Centenary United Methodist Church’s new Cornerstone building from 4 to 7 p.m. A dinner includes soup or chili, a jumbo hot dog, chips, a drink and a dessert for $6. Individual items and children’s prices will be available.

The Bonne Terre Community Chautauqua Singers will perform a medley of Christmas carols at 6 p.m. there and again in the Commerce Bank parking lot just before the parade begins.

The Park Hills-Leadington Chamber of Commerce Parade will be Thursday night.

The parade starts at 6:30 at Leadington Plaza and ends at the Park Hills’ Farmers Market. There will be a musical performance at 5:30 p.m. at the Leadington Plaza. The lighting of the Leadington Christmas tree will be held at 6 p.m. while the lighting of the Park Hills tree will be held just after the parade.

The City of Bismarck will have its annual tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday in front of the Bismarck Depot. Santa Claus will be on hand and refreshments will be available.

Desloge will have its annual Christmas in the Park from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in Desloge City Park. Santa Claus will make an appearance for the kids. There will be free carriage rides and refreshments available.

The Krekeler Jeweler’s Christmas Parade Christmas Parade in Farmington is scheduled at 6 p.m. Dec. 8. Afterward, parade-goers can go to the opening of Winter Wonderland at Long Hall.

Other area events include Fredericktown’s Home for the Holidays Parade Friday. On Saturday, Ste. Genevieve will have their Christmas Art Show and Country Christmas Walk while Christmas in the Valley will be celebrated in Iron County. The anual Christmas parade in Potosi will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday.
