MAFC and SEMO North place 20 on All-State lists

ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association held their All-State selections during the State Championships, selecting teams for all six classes from players throughout the state (see entire list below).

 When the final selections had been made, the Mississippi Area Football Conference and the SEMO North Conference together had 20 players selected  to the teams. The seven MAAA schools which have football teams are members of one or the other conference.

State quarterfinalist Farmington had three players selected to the Class 4 teams with Bryan Krause making First-Team as a defensive back, and receiver Nick Baker and offensive lineman Dakota Smith making the Second Team.

De Soto’s Dakota Smith was named to the First-Team offensive line, and Jake Amsden of Festus made the First-Team defensive line.

 In Class 3, Ste. Genevieve’s Kory Faulkner was named First-Team quarterback with Dustin Noll making First-Team receiver. Potosi’s Brandon Bourbon was selected First-Team running back and Harry Thurmond made First-Team offensive lineman.

Central’s Tony Martin was selected Second-Team defensive back, and Fredericktown’s Joey Lewandowski was named Second-Team running back.

Bryan Kertz made the First-Team for Class 1 on the offensive line, and Adam Dzik was named First-Team kicker from St. Vincent.

In Class 2, semi-finalist Maplewood placed three players on the First-Team with Bryant Allen as an All-Purpose player, Adam Bingham as defensive lineman, and Devin Lindsey as linebacker.

Adam Zweigert of Jackson made First-Team Class 5 as a running back, and Levi Terrell made First-Team running back with Zach Curry making it as an offensive lineman for Fox in Class 6.

Way to go T!!!!! We are all so proud of you. I think you should have made the 1st Team but our 4-6 record against a unbelievably tough schedule probably made you go to the 2nd. Hey, who cares??? All-State is All-State!!! Way to go Tony Martin!!! We salute you! Tom Ps: Ball State is lucky to have you. Don't forget your roots and stay grounded. I know you will.
