Has anyone seen Rudolph? The Bonne Terre Betterment Committee and the Chamber of Commerce are hosting a contest to find Rudolph at area businesses each business day between Thursday and Christmas Eve. Check the Daily Journal Web site each morning for a clue. - Teresa Ressel / Daily Journal
Where's Rudolph?
The first clue in this mystery could give your family clout. Rudolph may just need some "dough," so don't forget to look, Where you can bank the final say may have to come from "Cook."
Congratulations to Charles Pace who claimed the prize today!
We know that he gets hungry and Rudolph loves to shop. And he's been saving pennies and he can eat a "lot." So if you see him darting up and down the aisle, Tell him Santa needs him to go the extra mile.
BONNE TERRE — It seems Rudolph is missing and Santa Claus believes he’s been roaming around Bonne Terre.
The Bonne Terre Betterment Committee and the Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce are having a contest called, “Where’s Rudolph?” The five-day contest starts Thursday and ends on Christmas Eve. Prizes will be awarded each business day at participating businesses and a grand prize will be awarded on the last day.
The opening to the poem reads, “Santa’s really worried, Rudolph can’t be found. Rudolph’s come to love Bonne Terre and wants to stay in Town. Now Santa loves Bonne Terre a lot, but it would not be fair, If all the toys the Elves had made stayed only in Bonne Terre. So Santa’s asking for your help, in flushing Rudolph out.”
At 9 a.m. each morning, starting Thursday and ending Christmas Eve, the Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce office and the Daily Journal Web site will release clues to those who want to participate in the contest.
A clue will lead you to a business in Bonne Terre where Rudolph is that day. The first person to get to the business and find Rudolph will win a prize such as a gift certificate from that business.
After figuring out the last clue on Christmas Eve, participants should write down all five answers to the clues (Rudolph’s locations) and turn them in at the Chamber of Commerce office at the Shepard House on Main Street. The first person to turn in the correct answers will receive a grand prize, which is a holiday basket. Of course, the answers need to be turned in by 1 p.m.
Nancy Dill, secretary at the Chamber office, said you do not have to be a daily winner to be the grand winner.
The rules say you cannot call the business to find out if they have Rudolph, you must go in person to claim the daily prize. When someone wins, a sign will be posted on the business’ door.
Participants must be 18 or older. Chamber board members and employees of participating businesses and their families are ineligible for the prizes.

Rudolph must weigh over 350 lbs, be a minimum of 9 feet long (antler to tail), and have no less than 38 points of total antlers. Yes, they can all be on one side.
Please count the antlers, measure the reindeer, and weigh him in before calling in your Rudolph spotting to city hall!
