Something new has been added this year to the annual Home Expo sponsored by the Daily Journal and the Farmington Community Civic Center.

“It’s the Home and Outdoor Expo this year,” said Bill Towler, Civic Center Director. “We’ll have an area outdoors that features things like boats and motorcycles.”

Admission is free to the 2-day Expo set for Jan. 24-25, 2009.

Booths are still available for vendors to showcase their products and services. A single 8 by 10-foot space costs $160 or with electric, $175. Vendors may book more than one space and there is large, more open space available for larger displays.

To become an exhibitor, call Towler at 573-756-0900.

Businesses already registered for the event include: Cable Direct TV, Bauer Chiropractic, Farmington Fire Dept., Skaggzzz Sleep Institute, Kammermans, New Image Aesthetics and Laser Center, The UPS Store, All Star Dips, Schaefer Water Centers, Creative Memories, Cloud 9 Impressions, Juice Plus, Woods Basements Systems, NCH Desloge, Shandi Shores World Travel, Butterfield Gardens, Pyramid Home Health Services, HospiceCare/Carter’s Clubhouse, Carpet One Floor and Home, Techno Wizard LLC, Electric Car Company, Show Me Rent-to-Own, The Blind Depot, Presbyterian Hospice, Hastings Hobbies and More, The Body Shop at Home, YMCA Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood, Twin City Marine, Wachovia Securities, Energy Doctor of Southeast Missouri, Just for Her, K and K Auto Cosmetics, Owens Enterprises, Mary Key, Surdyke Motorsports, Edward Jones and Cabinetry Plus.

Last year, 80 businesses exhibited at the show. Towler said it’s almost impossible to count the crowd, but last year, attendance was “very good.”

Returning this year will be antiques appraisers and Mary Hostetter of The Blue Owl Restaurant in Kimmswick who will offer a food demonstration.

Towler believes the civic center has hosted the show since 1997 and said it has grown every year.

“You can do a lot of shopping for a lot of different things all in one spot,” he said. “We are hoping people may have cabin fever by that time in January and be eager to get out.”

Vendors represent all kinds of areas including home improvement, financial, health, energy conservation, transportation, crafts and home businesses.

The show will be open from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Jan. 24 and from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Jan. 25.  It is co-sponsored by B-104 FM.
