Crash takes life of Bismarck woman
Other holiday accidents injure area residents

A Bismarck woman was killed in a crash on Highway 32 Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Nora A. Lancaster, 60 was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The driver of the vehicle, Earnest D. Lancaster, 65, of Bismarck, and the driver of the other vehicle, Kenneth Tabor, 42, of Farmington, received serious injuries and were taken by Air Evac to hospitals in St. Louis.
Reports indicate Tabor was driving a 2003 Dodge Durango west on Highway 32 near Route B when he crossed the center line and struck the Lancaster’s 2006 Dodge Caravan head-on.
The Lancasters were reportedly wearing seat belts but Tabor was not wearing a seat belt.
The accident was reported at 11:40 a.m.
A Jackson man received minor injuries Tuesday when a 2001 GMC pulled into the path of his 1998 Dodge Ram in Cape Girardeau County.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at 11:55 a.m.
Mark Blackwell, 51, was eastbound on Route E at Interstate 55, 3 miles east of Oak Ridge, when a southbound GMC driven by Stephen P. Nabors, 44, of Park Hills drove into his path.
Blackwell, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by a family member to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. No injuries were listed for Nabors, who was wearing his seat belt.
Damage to the GMC was listed as minor and damage to the Dodge was listed as total.
Two Potosi residents received moderate injuries Wednesday afternoon when their vehicles collided head-on in Washington County.
According to Highway Patrol reports, the accident occurred at 1:50 p.m. on Pleasant Hill Road, 2 miles west of Highway 185. Potosi resident Brandon J. Courtois, 31, was eastbound in a 2003 Pontiac GT1 when he swerved to avoid a log in the roadway. He crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 1985 Ford F150 head-on. Potosi residents William R. Skaggs, 31, driver of the Ford, and Shayla M. Courtois, 3, a passenger in the Pontiac, were taken by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital. No injuries were listed for Brandon Courtois. None of the three was wearing a seat belt.
Damage to each of the vehicles was listed as total.
An accident at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 8 in St. Francois County left a Potosi woman with minor injuries.
According to Highway Patrol reports, Andrew J. Lawson, 16, of Irondale, was northbound on Route P and failed to yield while attempting to cross Highway 8. The front of his 1995 Jeep Cherokee struck the left side of a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Potosi resident Kenneth W. Bollinger, 38.
Patricia A. Bollinger, 33, a passenger in the Jeep, was taken by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, according to the Highway Patrol reports. No injuries were listed for Lawson or Kenneth Bollinger. All three had been wearing seat belts.
Damage to the Jeep was listed as total and damage to the Dodge was listed as moderate.
