POTOSI — The MAAA All-Conference basketball teams have been released following the elimination of the Bismarck girls and West County boys squads from state-playoff contention on Wednesday.

The Arcadia Valley Tigers claimed a share of the Small-School division title for the first time since 2003, and were credited by the league coaches with four selections overall to lead all teams.

West County captured its sixth consecutive Small-School crown in a split with Arcadia Valley, and added the first district championship since 1997 with a late-season surge. Three senior Bulldogs landed First Team honors.

The boys Large-School division First Team featured solo representatives from five different schools. Farmington won the regular-season title and made a return to the Class 4 playoffs while compiling a 24-5 record.

The Farmington girls program collected a third straight district title and increased its enduring winning streak in MAAA Large-School action to 41 consecutive games.

The Knightettes are matched by division runner-up North County with two First Team athletes. Ste. Genevieve finished third in the conference standings despite posting its highest victory total in school history with 21.

Bismarck finished a perfect 10-0 in the girls Small-School standings before nothing its first district championship since 1990 in class 2.

great point ltbt - I can think of at least two BHS girls that deserve 1st team and without a doubt at least 2nd team.

why does the small girls group not have a 2nd team like all the rest?
