MAAA golfers enjoy sunny day on links

TERRE DU LAC — The Farmington Knights took advantage of Tuesday’s warmer weather to shoot a 173 as a team, besting North County’s 197 on the Raiders home course at the Terre Du Lac Country Club.

Only two shots separated the Knights top four golfers. Alex Rhodes was low with a 42, Dylan Elders shot a 43, and Branden Gallagher and John Schnurbusch both finished with 44 strokes. John Woods was medalist with a score of 40 for the Raiders.

Farmington (1-0) will host Jackson this afternoon at the St. Francois Country Club. North County (0-1) will host Central on Tuesday.

Central 171, Potosi 189

FARMINGTON
— The Central Rebels collected their first conferecne win with a 171-189 win over the Potosi Trojans on Tuesday.

Rolin Baker had eight straight pars before finishing with a 38 for medalist honors. Taylor Gray was only one shot back at 39, having made a birdie on No. 3 at Crown Pointe. Connor Priest and Cody Barnett rounded out the team score with both taking 47 strokes on their rounds.

Zach Gibson was low man for Potosi with a 45, Alex Morgan finished with a 46, Madison Smith shot 48 and Nathan Portell had a 50.

The Rebels will play next in the Ft. Zumwalt West ‘Old Hickory Challange’ on Monday.

 

Arcadia Valley 174, Valle 190, Bismarck 213

STE. GENEVIEVE
— The Arcadia Valley Tigers picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday shootin a 174 to Valle’s 190 and Bismarck’s 213. Only one of the wins would count towards Valle’s conference record, since newcomer Bismarck is on a one-year probationary period.

Chase Bennett scored the medalist honors with a 41. Brock Walker shot 43, Blake Walker and Eric Bennett both finished at 46. for Arcadia Valley. Eric Bennett was the medalist in the Tigers’ match with West County last Friday.

Valle will host Hillsboro this afternoon.
