MAC sweeps two from Forest Park

PARK HILLS — The Mineral Area College Cardinals got back on the winning track by sweeping the Forest Park Highlanders, 10-4 and 10-9.

Mike Bigogno spread out nine hits from the Highlanders bats to collect the win in game one.

Leading 5-0, the Cardinals blew the game wide open with five more runs in the fifthg inning. Richie Stanley collected his third RBI with his third double in the game. Isaac Armstrong hit a bases-loaded triple to cap off the inning.

MAC took advantage of Forest Park’s miscues in the second game with the first two runs scoring on Highlander errors. Hunter Jeter went five and a third innings to pick up the win. Chance Cleveland picked up the save.

Tyler Beer hit a RBI double in the third inning and Isaac Armstrong hit his second triple of the day in the fifth inning, and Nick Cox hit a two-RBI double in the same inning.

The Cardinals (12-20) will travel to Trenton, Missouri to play North Central on Thursday.
