POTOSI — The North County Raiders tennis team picked up their second win of the season with a decisive 8-1 victory over the Potosi Trojans despite Tuesday’s wet weather.
The Trojans contested all three of the doubles matches but fell short in each one. Andrew Blunt and Zach Perry won the No. 1 doubles with a score of 8-6 over Potosi’s Collin Schlosser and Colt Sutton.
Jimmy Lashley and Connor McBride combined for an 8-5 win over Nick Turnbough and Caleb Marler, and Michael Hernandez and Timmy Nobles won 8-6 over Greg Pierce and Kenny Drennan in No. 3 doubles.
North County won five of the six singles matches. Blunt bested Schlosser 8-1, Lashley had the same score over Turnbough, and McBride won 8-2 over Marler.
Hernandez doubled up Jake Mercer 8-4, and Nobles outlasted Zach Shepard 9-7.
Sutton was the Trojans only winner on the day, and he had to really earn it, finishing with a score of 9-8 after a 7-1 tiebreak over Perry.
North County (2-7) will host Arcadia Valley on Thursday, and Potosi will be at home this afternoon to take on De Soto.
