ST. LOUIS (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers’ game at St. Louis was postponed after persistent rain in the second inning Friday night, washing away a two-run homer by the Cardinals’ Colby Rasmus.

No makeup date was announced.

Five of the first eight hitters reached safely against Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo, with Rasmus’ shot putting the Cardinals ahead 2-0 in the second. Play was halted with one out in the inning and a man on first.

Cardinals starter Kyle Lohse allowed one hit in two innings.

The Brewers and Cardinals, both 21-14, entered their first series of the season tied for the NL Central lead.
