STE. GENEVIEVE — Luke Uding slammed his first home run and sophomore pitcher Wade Roth struck out 11 batters on Friday, as the Valle baseball team completed its regular season with an 8-1 victory over Herculaneum.

Uding finished 3-for-4 overall with a double and three RBI, and his two-run blast to left field in the second inning helped the Warriors build a comfortable 7-0 lead.

Senior Cole Bieser reached base four times and scored twice in his final home game for Valle (20-5). Aaron Basler added a pair of RBI singles to finish 2-for-3, and Mike Greminger contributed a single and a double.

Roth allowed only three hits and two walks over six strong innings, retiring nine consecutive batters during one stretch. Cody Harris doubled in the fourth and scored on a RBI single by Drew Achter for Herculaneum (10-11).

Nathan Geile singled and Nolan Carrow scored a run as Valle compiled six stolen bases in the contest. The Warriors will begin district tournament action on Monday in Brentwood.
