Kretchmar joins Precision Eye Care

Dr. John Fitz and Dr. Anton Beffa, along with the staff at Precision Eye Care, are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Alan P. Kretchmar, M.D.
Dr. Kretchmar joined Precision Eye Care of Farmington on May 1. He is a board certified, comprehensive ophthalmologist, who has been practicing ophthalmology for 31 years. Although Dr. Kretchmar is no longer actively performing surgery, he is specializing in the medical management of ocular disease and medical conditions.
Dr. Kretchmar has been practicing comprehensive ophthalmology in the St. Louis area since 1978. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmological Society and the Missouri Medical Society. He has also spent several years as a teaching assistant at Saint Louis University Medical Center.
Dr. Kretchmar is a native of Chicago, Ill., and graduated from Washington University. He is a 1974 graduate of Saint Louis University Medical School of Medicine and spent a year as a rotating intern at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center before completing his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University in 1978.
Dr. Kretchmar has been married to Karen since 1976. They have one daughter and two sons, all of whom reside in the St. Louis area. Dr. Kretchmar also lives in St. Louis, and commutes to Precision Eye Care on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for office evaluations. He is a cycling enthusiast and enjoys traveling. He recently completed a bicycle journey across France that had four stages in eight years.
