FARMINGTON — The Farmington Knights held their annual boys soccer tournament, starting on Tuesday with the final games to be played on Thursday. The Knights will be in the 6:30 p.m. championship game against Windsor after downing the Fredericktown Blackcats by a score of 6-0.

Goalkeeper John Schnurbusch had to make only two saves to preserve the win for Farmington, but the big story was on the other end of the field where Pete Grindel was having a hay-day making goals.

Grindel scored the first five goals for the Knights with Will Hitson scoring the last one. Grindel scored all three of the first-half goals, and had assists from Trevor Ratliff with two and Alex Rhodes and Dylan Elders with one each. Grindel assisted on Hitson’s goal.
