Warning signs of Alzheimer's
FARMINGTON — A program at Parkland Health Center will help people know the warning signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
“Know the 10 Signs” is a newly created program to address the need for early detection of Alzheimer’s, dementia and memory loss. The program covers the warning signs of dementia and how to seek a diagnosis. This interactive program features interviews with people who have dementia.
A Know the 10 Signs program will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. Oct. 14 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. Registration is required in advance. Register online at http://www.alzstl.org or call 800-272-3900.
The Alzheimer’s Association, St. Louis Chapter, serves 38 counties in eastern Missouri and western Illinois, offering numerous programs for those dealing with the many stages and issues of the disease. The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
The Leadbelt Memory Walk in Bonne Terre last month raised about $20,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.
