It was a big hit and a “sweet” event last year, and Solid Rock Family Church intends to once again offer up nearly a ton of candy free to all area children during the second annual Amazing Candy Mountain party this Saturday night.
The church, located off Woodlawn west of U.S. 67 on the northern edge of Farmington, will offer the Saturday evening event as a safe option to trick and treating. Everyone is invited with the games and activities directed to children ages 12 and under accompanied by an adult.
Amazing Candy Mountain includes an indoor evening of games, inflatable jumping house, a life-sized indoor maze and a towering mound of candy designed to hold 2,000 pounds of tasty goodies. The free event will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
“We do several community outreaches throughout the year and Candy Mountain is one of my personal favorites,” said Children’s Ministries Director Sarah Radford. “I enjoyed the gas buy down, the laundry buy down and Cookie 911, but I love to see the look on kids’ faces when they spot a huge mountain of candy for the first time ... it's awesome.”
All of the activities and candy are absolutely free and provided courtesy of the congregation of Solid Rock Family Church. Costumes are welcomed, but not required. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture all the fun.
For more information call the church office at (573) 756-7526.
