Community choir to perform Friday night
Mineral Area College’s choirs will be singing everything from Renaissance to Romantic to Modern when they perform in a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church.
Chamber Singers will sing some vocal jazz such as “Moonglow,” “I Wish You Love,” “El Grillo” and more. MAC Singers will perform music throughout the ages including songs from each era: Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century. Mineral Area Community Singers will be singing choral favorites such as Copland's “Zion's Walls,” Mozart's “Gloria in Excelsis” from his Twelfth Mass.
Music Instructor Greg Graf, who directs the choirs, said music lovers of all stripes will be able to appreciate the range of selections and performances.
“We do this because we love singing,” he said. “If you love to hear great music, come and join us on Friday.”
