Vehicles collide, woman injured

A Fredericktown woman received moderate injuries Tuesday when two vehicles collided on Missouri 72 in Madison County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 2:10 p.m. about .6 mile west of Route K. Carole A. White, 66, was eastbound in a 1998 GMC when she tried to overtake a 1999 jeep driven by Brian E. McKeever, 54, of Black. The GMC struck the rear of the Jeep, then the car traveled off the road, struck a utility pole and overturned. White was taken by ambulance to Madison Medical Center. No injuries were listed for McKeever. Both had been wearing seat belts,
Damage to the Jeep was listed as minor and damage to the GMC was listed as total.
A Pilot Knob woman received minor injuries Tuesday when she lost control of her 1997 Ford Taurus on wet pavement and struck a ditch in St. Francois County.
According to the Highway Patrol reports, Yvonne D. Rayfield, 55, was northbound on Missouri 221 at 1:45 p.m. when her car went off the road and struck the ditch, .1 mile south of Henson Road.
Rayfield, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.
Damage to the Taurus was listed as total.
A Bonne Terre man received moderate injuries at 5 p.m. Monday when his 2003 Polaris Magnum ATV overturned on Berry Road in St. Francois County.
According to the Highway Patrol, Jeremy L. Knopfel, 29, was southbound at 5 p.m. when he tried to make a sudden U-turn and overturned north of Easy Street.
He was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Damage to the ATV was listed as minor.
