Stabbing In Marquand Sends Victim to Hospital
On November 11, 2009 about 11:19 p.m., the Madison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call of a scuffle between two men.

According to Sheriff David Lewis, the scuffle took place along the Castor Bridge on Highway DD in Marquand and led to one man being stabbed in the abdomen area.

Steven Reed, 27, of Fredericktown suffered serious injuries in the fight and was transported to Mineral Area Regional Center for treatment.

The alleged perpetrator, Jason A. Starkey, 33, of Marble Hill has been arrested and held in the Madison County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
