Ron and Iris Bohs were married on October 18, 1959 at the Presbyterian Church of Farmington and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month at a celebration that drew over 60 guests from as far away as Florida and Illinois. The couple's children Rhonda and Shawn Bohs, and their spouses, Sonia Rivas and Julie Hirsch-Bohs, organized an open house featuring 50's era music, a cake resembling the couple's original wedding cake, decor echoing the couple's wedding day including daisy bouquets flown in from New York, and a digital photo display highlighting a variety of family events. The crowd was treated to a variety of delicious refreshments ranging from champagne punch to bakery fresh cookies specially made for the gathering. Event photos and greeting cards from friends and family all over the country provided additional sparkle to an extraordinary afternoon.

 Bob and Barbara Howard of Okeechobee, Florida, formerly of Flat River, celebrated their 50th anniversary on Cctober 24, 2009, with family at the church they were married in, Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan.

Robert and Connie (Powell) Smith, formerly of Farmington, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a banquet and reception on September 18, 2009, at Andre’s West in St. Louis.

Mr. and Mrs. David Blakemore of Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. V. V. Hays, Jr. of Doniphan announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin Elizabeth, to Gregory Collins, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Collins of Farmington.

Dan and Edwina Alcorn are pleased to announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Miss Emily Stenger, daughter of Joseph and Patricia Stenger to Mr. Matthew Owen, son of David and Karen Owen.  Emily is a student at Saint Louis College of Pharmacy where she is working on her Doctorate of Pharmacy.  Matthew currently attends Lindenwood University where he is majoring in Exercise Science.  He next will pursue a Masters of Business and Administration.  A June wedding is planned.
