Lee Roy JohnsonLUTZ, FLORIDA — Lee Roy Johnson, Jr. 90 of Lutz, Fl. Passed away on November 12, 2009. Mr. Johnson, who was known, in Farmington, as Roy Jr.,was born on the Roger Peers Taylor Farm on February 2, 1919. The farm home site is now where the Camelot Nursing and Rehab Center stands. His family is a long line of early settlers in the Farmington community. His parents were Lee Roy Johnson, Sr. and Mary Taylor Johnson. His grandparents were Roger Peers Taylor and Ella Haw Taylor. He graduated from the Rolla School of Mines in 1938 and was in defense work from then until he retired as Deputy Director of Research and Development, Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama in the early 1980’s.

He was a loving and devoted husband of 69 wonderful years to Bernice Gibson that he was united in marriage to on April 29, 1940. He was also a dedicated and loving father of six children, Glen (Liz) of Park Hills, Harold (Mary) of Hazelwood, Carolyn Ransom (Charles) of Arnold, Dianna Gunter (Stephen) of Jackson, Bill (Barbara) of Fredericktown and Connie Berg of Farmington. The joy of his life was his 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Joseph Hargiss of Desloge and one sister, Alvena Jones of Herculaneum.
